Climate change
Greater water scarcity, supply chain disruption and increasing energy and raw material costs are just some of the ways in which climate change will affect our business. We have set an ambitious target to reduce the greenhouse gases (GHG) in our own operations and across the lifecycle of our products.
Helping to tackle climate change
As part of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan we have set ourselves a bold reduction target for greenhouse gas emissions that covers our entire value chain from the sourcing of materials through to consumers’ use of products and their disposal. This sets us a challenging goal, but one we are determined to achieve.
Our greenhouse gas strategy

We are looking across our entire value chain to understand our impacts and achieve reductions.
Our greenhouse gas footprint

We have conducted a detailed assessment to measure GHG impact of our products across the lifecycle.
Our manufacturing performance

New initiatives to reduce emissions include combined heat and power technology and renewable energy.
Climate-friendly refrigeration

Roll out of ice cream freezer cabinets with energy-efficient, climate-friendly refrigerants.
Products & consumers
Designing innovative products can motivate consumers to change their laundry habits.
Transport & distribution
Reducing mileage, using lower-emission vehicles and selecting alternative forms of transport.
Combating deforestation
We are working with governments and industry forums to reduce deforestation.
Working with others
To achieve wider impact we work in partnership with others.
