So how do you decide what's right for you? Beauty products have their ingredients listed on the packaging, and if you know what they do, you will be able to make the right choice.

  • Aloe vera gel has hydrating, softening and soothing properties.
  • Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) work primarily as an exfoliant but may also help to stimulate the production of collagen. AHAs can relieve aging, dry, or sun-damaged skin and can reduce the effect of wrinkles. They are often found in moisturisers, and can be listed on ingredients as glycolic acid, lactic acid or citric acid.
  • China clay (also called kaolin clay) is white powder clay with good oil-absorbing properties. It helps to refine the skin and clear up breakouts of spots.
  • Dermal recovery comspanlex (DRC) is a blend of skincare ingredients developed by Pond's to target aging skin. It hydrates, softens and enhances skin's natural moisture barrier function. Also protects against environmental stress, smoothes and nourishes skin and works to diminish the signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Jojoba helps maintain the skin's moisture balance as it has excellent spreading, lubricating and penetrating properties. It is very good for oily skin.
  • Shea butter is a natural, soothing ingredient that is extracted from the nut of the shea tree, indigienous to Africa. It has a softening effect and can be found in moisturisers and hair conditioners.
  • UVA / UVB protection is crucial for skin care. UVA rays penetrate deeply into the skin and cause wrinkles by damaging the collagen layers that help support the outer layers of skin. UVB rays are shorter and usually stop at the skin's surface, often causing burns. Both types of rays can cause skin cancer and premature aging of the skin. SPF helps protect the skin from the effects of ultraviolet light and the sun.

So, now you have the knowledge, you too can have beautiful skin. Pond's skincare products have been working for more than 160 years to help women have better looking skin. Today's products are formulated for the 21st century to protect against aging, stress and the environment.
